93.5 Red FM gets Dharavi Rocks band to Meet and Perform for Mr. Amitabh Bachchan

They were born and raised in Dharavi, one of the world’s largest slums. They beat the odds, with music. Dharavi Rocks is a band of slum kids, becoming increasingly propular for their junk percussion acts.  All its members are underprivileged children. This motley group makes music from waste materials collected and brought to the slums. And, hence, Mumbai ki Rani Malishka has been following their journey.

Malishka recently talked to the band, which said they wish to perform for Mr. Bachchan. The leader for the band, Abhijit Jejurikar, requested Malishka to get them to meet Mr Bachchan. Abhijit believed that Malishka is the one person who could actually make their dream come true. She asked the band to record a message for him, and sent him an email with the video clip. Mr. Bachchan’s office replied to confirm within 48 hours.

Malishka and the kid rockers met Mr. Bachchan in his Janak bungalow yesterday, 31st Aug, 2015 where Dharavi Rocks could perform for him.
