One just cannot ignore the digital space anymore anywhere and its impact and importance is certainly felt in every aspect of the modern day business affairs. And to just add on this addition, EA Sports FIFA10 has come up with a new viral for all the soccer fans and game lovers of the world – Blindfolded Keepie Uppie Challenge launched by Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam.

The initiative is another step taken to attract the lovers of the virtual world and millions of soccer fans across the world. Undoubtedly Football is the most famous and watched sport in the world and with EA SPORTS FIFA EARTH telecasting more than 100 million online matches played till date in FIFA10, only adds up the excitement and intensity among the fans. However this time around it’s the playful side of the sport that has been highlighted.

In the words of Account Director, Alex Bennett Grant, “FIFA10 launched as the fastest selling sports game in history and has also become the best selling title in the 27-year history of EA SPORTS. The intensity and emotion of football can be pretty heavy and with this portion of the campaign we want to show the more playful side of FIFA10 and football in general. It levels the playing field for everyone by giving them an opportunity to get involved in the campaign and potentially do better than some of the best football players in the world.”

This particular viral is a promotional activity for FIFA10 integrated campaign – “How Big Can Football Get?” spreading across almost all communication mediums right from digital to print and broadcast.

The campaign is created by Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam and includes:

Creative Directors – Edu Pou and Joakim Borgström
Producers Elizabeth Dwyer, Cat Renolds
Copywriter – Rick Chant
Art Directors – Barney Hobson
Camera and Editing – Sanne Van Hecke
Executive Creative Directors – John Norman and Jeff Kling
Strategic Planner – Jonas Vail
Account Team – Jesse Long, Alex Bennett Grant, Frederic Point
Business Affairs – Barrie Williams

The Blindfolded Keepie Uppie Challenge is being hosted on a dedicated You Tube Channel – http://www.youtube.com/blindkeepieuppie to attract the gamers and the viewers to the challenge with their own personal attempts. With the World Cup Qualification in the offing, this viral does promise a kick start beginning of the season ahead.
