Arjun Kapoor: Varun’s an attention seeker, takes off his shirt to stay in focus!

Watch Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan shed their hero image and spill the beans on each other

Much has been spoken and written about the camaraderie between Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. But, not many are even aware of the bonding Arjun shares with childhood buddy, Varun Dhawan. This Saturday, 22nd October at 8PM, get ready for an explosion of entertainment as the two young heartthrobs take the hot seat and bring the house down with hosts Riteish Deshmukh and Sajid Khan on  ZEE TV’s Vivo Smartphone presents Yaaron Ki Baraat co-powered by Amazon.in and Brooke Bond Red Label. The show is about testing celebrity friendships through a series of fun games, tasks, challenges and the joyride that ensued had the dashing duo sharing the craziest stories about each other.

While Varun looked dapper in denims, a blue shirt and a leather jacket, Arjun rocked his smart semi-formal look in a blue t-shirt and jacket. The two made a grand entry on the show, dancing to Varun’s superhit chartbuster Saturday Saturday and had the audience grooving along. Arjun cheekily declared that they are “just good friends”. Both are born into film families and it’s no surprise that they have grown up attending the same birthday parties and get togethers. As they grew up together, Arjun revealed that he was thick with Varun’s elder brother but it was only when the two joined Barry John’s acting studio that their friendship grew. Talking about their early struggle days, Arjun shared that Varun was an extrovert and would interact with everybody in class, especially all the girls.  While Arjun was the introvert who would only sit and see Varun charm his way into all the girls’ hearts. Both Arjun and Varun have, apparently, acted in several plays and done a lot of improvisations at their acting class. They even admitted to having played trees, animals and a lot of inconsequential roles in their earlier acting school days before they made it big in Bollywood. Arjun always wanted to become a director and has even learnt editing.

At the acting school amongst all other techniques, they were taught to ‘do business’ while in the frame. Which meant that an actor in a shot cannot be just standing blankly and staring at infinity but has to be seen doing some action. Spilling the beans on Varun’s antics, Arjun shared that Varun is an attention seeker and wants to be the focus of everybody’s attention whenever he is on screen. He can do anything to hold people’s attention. So, Varun’s idea of ‘doing business’ invariably included  taking off his shirt whenever he didn’t have any lines but was required to be in the frame. Needless to say, flaunting those chiseled abs got him ample attention!

On the hand, Varun feels that Arjun is very reserved and only opens with his close group of friends. He shared that Arjun is a ‘good boy’ who works, comes back home soon after, watches movies and sleeps off. Varun added, ‘I think Arjun is lonely and needs someone in his life to complete him. Rather, I have even introduced him to girls.’ This had an instant retort from an astounded Arjun who wanted to know “When on earth was this?” He added, ‘This is just Varun’s attempt of portraying a very nice and clean image of himself. He wants me to get married and sit at home, so that he can do all my films!’
