Bandhan Bank names Board of Directors; Unveils new logo

Bandhan Bank Ltd announced its Board of Directors today. The universal bank will commence operations in India from August 23, 2015. Honourable President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee will launch the newest bank of India in Kolkata at Science City Auditorium. Bandhan Bank Ltd.  will be the first bank to be born in eastern India post Independence.

The Board had its first meeting today in Kolkata at Bandhan Bank’s headquarters.

Mr. Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, said, “Bandhan Bank will benefit immensely from the wealth of experience and insights of the board members. I am also proud of my senior management team. Together we will usher in a new era in Indian banking.”

The bank unveiled its visual identity today – an image of the traditional Indian ‘Diya’. Mr. Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman and Creative Director, South Asia, Ogilvy and Mather, the agency that designed the logo, said, "When you see the logo, you will notice extensive use of the colour red. Now, red is associated with all that's auspicious. The flame or the ' Diya' - the other part of the visual identity - symbolizes a ray of hope, a new morning. Between the red colour and the flame, the Bandhan Bank logo holds the promise of good things to look forward to."
