BARC ratings Wk 20: Star Plus brushes past Colors to be No. 1 in urban

BARC ratings for Week 20 (May 14-20) of 2016 continued to witness a see-saw battle between the top two channels in urban India. This week, Star Plus moved past Colors to be placed in the numero uno spot [HSM (Urban) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals]. There were no changes in the rankings of the other top 10 Hindi GECs in Week 20.

Star Plus, which was placed at No. 2 in Week 19 with gross viewership of 413,580 [HSM (Urban) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals], climbed up to the No. 1 spot this week, registering an increase in its gross viewership to 431,857.

Colors slid to No. 2 spot with gross viewership of 414,213 in Week 20 [HSM (Urban) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals], compared to 431,346 in the previous week.

Zee TV continued in its third spot in Week 20 as well, registering gross viewership of 315,703, a marginal increase from gross viewership of 311,583 last week.

Life OK, too, continued in its fourth spot this week, garnering gross viewership of 283,930, a marginal dip from gross viewership of 287,442 in Week 19.

Placed at the fifth spot, Sony SAB garnered gross viewership of 264,192 in Week 20, an increase from 241,700 reported last week.

Sony Entertainment Television, which was the highest climber last week, remained to be placed in the sixth spot with a gross viewership of 216,711 in Week 20, a marginal increase from last week’s gross viewership of 207,012.

&TV, which made an entry in the top 10 Hindi GECs’ list in last week at No. 7, remained in the same position in Week 20, garnering a gross viewership of 127,052. This was an increase from 119,686 reported in Week 19.

Sony Pal continued at No. 8 in Week 20 with gross viewership of 113,523, a marginal dip from gross viewership of 115,399 last week.

Zee Anmol was ranked ninth in Week 20 as well, garnering gross viewership of 98,875. The channel witnessed a fall in its gross viewership from 101,704 last week.

Star Utsav was placed at No. 10 this week, with a gross viewership of 94,964, compared to 95,186 in Week 19.
