BARC ratings Wk 28: Star Plus leads, Zee up at No. 2 in Urban+Rural

BARC ratings for Week 28 (July 9-15) of 2016 [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals] saw Star Plus continue to maintain its lead among Hindi GECs. Meanwhile, Zee TV climbed up a notch to reach No. 2.

Star Plus continued to be in the No. 1 spot in Week 28, witnessing a gross viewership of 720065, witnessing a hike from 677,948 recorded last week. Three of its shows – ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ – featured among the top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in Week 27 in rural+urban. ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’ was back at No. 2 this week garnering 9,902 impressions (000s). ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ climbed up to the third spot from No. 5 last week, garnering 9,177 impressions (000s) in rural+urban. ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’ was back in the list, making a re-entry at No. 4 this week. The show garnered 8,871 impressions (000s) in rural+urban.

Zee TV moved past Colors to claim the No. 2 spot in Week 28 after being placed in the third spot for weeks. The channel recorded gross viewership of 597092 this week, up from 584,403 recorded in Week 27. Zee TV’s show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ continued to be the most watched show on Hindi GECs in rural+urban this week as well, garnering 13,649 impressions (000s), a marginal increase from 13,494 impressions (000s) in Week 27.

Meanwhile, Colors slipped to the third spot in Week 28, registering gross viewership of 584,267, a decline from 625,834 recorded last week.

Zee Anmol continued in the fourth position in Week 28, garnering gross viewership of 465,506, compared to last week’s figure of 473,813. Period drama ‘Jodha Akbar’ slipped to No. 5 this week among the top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in rural+urban, registering 8,862 impressions (000s), a decline from 9,930 impressions (000s) in Week 27.

Star Utsav continued at No. 5, witnessing a gross viewership of 436,719 in Week 28, compared to 458,291recorded last week.

Life OK and Sony Pal swapped places this week with Life OK climbing up a notch to No. 6, witnessing a rise in its gross viewership to 410,265 this week from 387,371 in Week 27.

Sony Pal slipped to the seventh spot this week, witnessing a marginal dip in its gross viewership from 408,104 in Week 27 to 407,413 in Week 28.

Sony Entertainment Television remained at No. 8 in Week 28, garnering gross viewership of 381,519, an increase from 361,369 recorded last week.

Sony SAB, which slipped to the No. 9 position last week, continued in the same spot in Week 28 as well. The channel recorded gross viewership of 345,082, compared to 356,611 recorded last week.

Placed at the tenth spot, Rishtey, too, saw a decline in its gross viewership from 289,479 in Week 27 to 284467 this week.
