BARC ratings Wk 31: Star Plus continues to lead urban+rural viewership

BARC ratings for Week 31 (July 30-August 5) of 2016 [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals] saw Star Plus continue to maintain its lead among Hindi GECs. This week, Colors, Star Utsav and Zee Anmol saw gains in gross viewership.

Star Plus continued to be in the No. 1 spot in Week 31 as well, witnessing a further decline in its gross viewership to 659,591 from 685,886 recorded last week. ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’ continued among the top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in Week 31 in rural+urban. However, the show slipped to the fourth spot after climbing to No. 2 last week, garnering 8,237 impressions (000s). On the other hand, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ moved out of the top 5 list.

Zee TV remained at No. 2 in Week 31 as well. The channel, too, witnessed a decline in its gross viewership from 611,276 in Week 30 to 601,034 this week. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’s’ run as the most watched show on Hindi GECs in rural+urban continued this week as well with the show garnering 14,968 impressions (000s). ‘Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’, which made an entry in top 5 list at No. 3 last week, slipped to the fifth spot in Week 31, garnering 7,980 impressions (000s).

Colors remained at the third spot in Week 31, registering an increase in its gross viewership from 532,339 in Week 30 to 547,974 this week. Its show, ‘Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki’, made an entry in the top 5 shows list at No. 2, garnering 8,684 impressions (000s).

Star Utsav’s position, too, remained unchanged at No. 4 in Week 31. The channel witnessed an increase in its gross viewership at 528,083 from 486,363 recorded last week.

Zee Anmol, which had climbed up a notch to be placed at the fifth spot in Week 30, continued in this spot, registering a gross viewership of 506,040 in Week 31, compared to 471,744 recorded last week. Period drama ‘Jodha Akbar’ saw gains this week, climbing to the third spot after slipping to No. 5 in Week 30 among the top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in rural+urban, registering 8,533 impressions (000s).

Life OK was placed sixth this week, witnessing a further decline in its gross viewership to 423,412 from 428,199 recorded in Week 30.

Sony Pal continued at the seventh spot in Week 31 as well, witnessing a further decline in its gross viewership from 403,285 in Week 30 to 385,152 this week.

Sony Entertainment Television remained at No. 8 in Week 31 as well, garnering gross viewership of 357,635, compared to 383,937 recorded last week.

Sony SAB, too, continued in the ninth spot this week. The channel recorded gross viewership of 341,480, a decline from 369,043 recorded in Week 30.

Placed at the tenth spot, Rishtey saw a decline in its gross viewership to 277,343 in Week 31 from 298,741 recorded last week.
