‘Bigg Boss 10’ is a lot wackier this time, here’s why…

One of the most viewed – and arguably controversial – reality shows is completing 10 years in 2016. Yes, we are talking about ‘Bigg Boss’. The show has become synonymous with extravaganza entertainment, controversies, fights, gossips, some romance on the side, and of course, Salman Khan’s weekend gaiety.

Ever since Season 10 was announced, one of the main highlights that intrigued the entire country was the addition of commoners to the list of celebrity contestants. This is the first time when the doors of the Bigg Boss house have been opened to regular people. So get ready for a new level of unexpected developments, self-discovery, learning and yes, arguments and fights even.

The celebrity contestants for Season 10 – Karan Mehra, Rohan Mehra, VJ Bani, Gaurav Chopra, Rahul Dev, Lopamudra Raut, and Monalisa are seen grappling with the ‘common folks’, who are in no mood to give in to their celebrity status, for the ‘Ultimate Title’.

Currently, the house is demarcated into two groups. Indiawale (consisting of the common folks) and the celeb group.

Here’s why we think this season can turn into a wacky carnival in the coming weeks:

Commoners mired in controversies

Priyanka Jagga, who was the first contestant to get eliminated, left no stone unturned to create ruckus in the house. An infrequent model and mother, she had all the signs to give celebs a run for their talent to create chaos and debates in the house. For example, her uncalled for fights with Rohan Mehra and VJ Bani are something we won’t forget in a hurry. Manoj Punjabi, last seen as a contestant on ‘Bachelorette India - Mere Khayalon Ki Mallika’, is now trying to take up a leadership spot left vacant by Priyanka. Thanks to his planning, plotting and high jinks, he has already managed to create quite a havoc in the house. What makes this season stand apart from the earlier seasons is the inclusion of Swami Omji. The self-styled godman, who spoke in favour of Radhe Maa and his dubious statements, is someone to watch. He is one of the inmates who is seen missing Priyanka and refuses to get ruled by the maliks (celeb contestants). Even Lokesh doesn’t stop entertaining us with her reporting skills and taking a stand for herself whenever required. After Priyanka, Akansha and Nitibha who have been dormant in the first week are seen getting into arguments and debates. Definitely an overload of spice.

Celebrity Strategies

VJ Bani tops the list here. Strong and aggressive, she has all the skills to propel her amongst the most popular inmates and help her in staying in the house for a long time. Gaurav Chopra sounds unruffled as of now, but we can bet that given his significant tenure in the house, he can be a tough contender for the final throne. Where we see Karan Mehra playing little safe, his onscreen son RohanMehra doesn’t mind getting into arguments whenever required.

What’s new? The recent development where Manoj and Monalisa are caught getting a little cosy did not go down well with the celebs.

Maliks Vs. Sevaks

In the first episode, we witnessed commoners putting on the cap of maliks. However, after a week, the celebrities are now the new maliks, and they are lording it over.

While celebs have a reputation to safeguard, the common folks are more fearless and are seen hogging more of the screen space. In Week 9, Manveer, Nitibha, Manoj, Monalisa, Rohan, Om Swamiji and Gaurav were nominated for elimination.

Regardless of the strong reactions, ‘Bigg Boss’ will continue to keep the Indian audiences glued to their screens.
