Breaking Now | Shekhar Gupta calls it quits at India Today Group!

Celebrated journalist Shekhar Gupta has called it quits at the India Today Group just two months after joining! The much hyped return of the senior journalist to the India Today Group from the Indian Express, appears to have fizzled out.

Sources close to the development have confirmed the news stating that though heading to pursue his creative and entrepreneurial interests, Gupta will however; continue as Editorial Advisor to the India Today Group. Founder-Chairman of ITG Aroon Purie will resume the additional responsibilities as the Editor-in-Chief.

News is also that Purie has hinted that the group is also looking at restructuring or rearrangement for mutual benefits. 

We also learn that, Gupta’s weekly column, ‘National Interest’, will continue to be published along with other long form articles, which he will write exclusively for the magazine.

He had joined ITG as the Vice Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of the group's entire range of products - all news and business publications, news TV brands and all related news and digital brands. During his short stint with India Today, Gupta was reporting to Aroon Purie and was responsible for the editorial quality of all news and business brands. He was working closely with Group CEO Ashish Bagga.
