Cannes Lions 2012: A Gold and a Bronze metal for DDB Mudra!

India has managed to bag its second gold lion at Cannes Lions 2012. After McCann opening India’s account by bagging the first gold lion, DDB Mudra has taken the legacy forward. DDB Mudra has got two awards to its credit. It has won a gold lion and a bronze lion in the Design category for its work for Ministry of Tourism’s Incredible India. Out of the eight shortlists in the Design Lions category, six of them were by DDB Mudra.

DDB Mudra’s Hinglish Project for Incredible India is a unique idea in which the agency's associate creative director, Shirin Johari, created a new font which was an amalgamation between the Devnagari script and the English alphabet. It was developed primarily for tourists. The agency won the gold for the overall campaign and the bronze for typography.

The Grand Prix in the Design category was won by an Austria based solar power company, Austria Solar, for its colourless annual report which was legible only in sunlight.
