CNN-News18 turns the spotlight on environmental issues in ‘Going Green’

CNN-News18 has further fortified its programming mix with a special series – ‘Going Green’. The series, anchored by environmentalist and Green Oscar winner Bahar Dutt, went on air on November 19, 2016 and will air every Saturday at 12.30 pm and 8.30 pm and Sunday at 10 pm.

The five-part special series will highlight the various environmental problems that our planet is facing. From food habits to energy sources, green homes and green entrepreneurs to protecting animal rights, ‘Going Green’ captures how lifestyle choices can create a greener world. From Guwahati and Kaziranga to the metropolitan cities like Delhi and Mumbai, Bahar will take viewers on a captivating journey.

Through this series, CNN-News18 aims to take viewers not only on a rich visual journey, but present stories that are accessible, simple and most importantly address the burning issues affecting the planet.

Speaking on the series, Anuradha SenGupta, Consulting Editor, CNN-News18, informed Adgully, “This series looks at fusing environmental issues with lifestyle choices that ordinary people can make to address them. It is part of our weekend programming that seeks to provide viewers high quality information coupled with a great viewing experience.”

On Bahar Dutt as the series’ anchor, SenGupta said, “Bahar Dutt is one of the most experienced environmental journalists in the country and has been associated with CNN-News18 for a decade now. So, it was natural to have her so this special series for us.”

Adding further, she said that CNN-News18 has been committed to reporting on environmental issues both at a local as well as macro global level.
