Deepika Padukone pours her heart out on Yeh Hai Meri Kahani

Back with a bang with its 3rd season, the next episode of UTV Stars’ popular show, Yeh Hai Meri Kahani will feature Bollywood’s sultry and immensely talented actress Deepika Padukone.

On the show, the charming actress gets candid about different phases in her life, from her first ramp walk and modeling assignment to her recent superhit. While she was busy planning a career in Badminton, modeling came knocking at her door, shifting her focus to the world of fame and glamour immediately, says Deepika. With several successful ads in her kitty, she reveals that it was superstar Salman Khan who first offered her a feature film which unfortunately didn’t work out as Deepika was still in college.

But fate had something else planned for the actress. First time director, Farhan Khan noticed her and without any screen test she was signed up as ‘Shantipriya’ in Om Shanti Om, therefore opening the doors of Bollywood for her. Before she could blink, Deepika had reached great heights. The actress talks about offers from best Bollywood directors like Rohit Shetty, Homi Adjani and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. “Weeks before I started shooting Ramleela, Sanjay Sir sent me a message, where he thanked me for playing Leela, the importance of Leela in his life and what it meant to him because that’s his mother’s name. So, playing Leela was a huge responsibility for me,” Deepika reveals. With success and fame, came ups and downs in Deepika’s personal life. On the show, the actress opens about her friendship with Bollywood’s blue-eyed boy and her former flame, Ranbir Kapoor.

As time to bid good-bye came closer, the actress said, “This journey’s not over. So I’m not thanking anyone yet.”
