Food Talk India a social media community raises $500k from Private Investor

Food Talk India, a digital food community recently raised a seed investment commitment of half a million dollars from a private investor.

Founded in 2013 by Shuchir Suri and Anjali Batra, Food Talk India started as an exclusive invite-only Social Food Forum on Facebook. Today with over 50,000 members and a huge presence pan social medias, Food Talk India has grown to become a key influencer in the Digital Food space.

The company has captivated a highly engaged online audience of 400K followers across all social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Viber along with on ground engagement through Curated food experiences.

Food Talk India recently signed a deal with Star World and Star World HD as the exclusive digital partner for the MasterChef Australia season 7 series in India. They will also be co-curating MasterChef Promotional event’s with Star World in key cities.

The company has evolved from creating an online Social Community of food lovers to now also being a technology and data sciences company with an in-house tech team. The seed investment has brought forward opportunities for the brand to launch their new product- Food Talk Plus - A hyper-local dish discovery Mobile Application.
To spearhead their strategies in this space, Himanshu Vaishnav of Airocorp, an artificial intelligence company has joined the Food Talk India team as their Chief Technology Officer.
