India Today TV aims to give a holistic news experience

Headlines Today, has rebranded itself and in the process, renamed itself as India Today Television, based on its parent company’s flagship magazine, India Today. It had been approved and given a

green signal by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) for the renaming process a few days back.

Despite being from the India Today Group, one of the most prestigious and sought after news magazines, Headlines Today, had never really got its share of popularity among the audience. Looking at the scenario, TV Today’s board had decided to undergo a rebranding process where they were not just looking at renaming the channel, but have also added a lot of new categories to its kitty. It will be an integration of digital, television and print from now on. Rebranding was done keeping in mind the much needed non-linearity to attract more and more audiences.

The process began a lot earlier when the group started adding big industry names like Rajdeep Sardesai, Shekhar Gupta and Karan Thapar. It looked like the work had been planned much earlier than we thought, but the group was probably waiting for getting the right people on board. It is believed that many consultants and experts are being taken into account for every rebranding exercise that is being planned from now on.

According to industry grapevine, Chief of Ogilvy & Mather, Piyush Pandey and a top Indian actress, Priyanka Chopra are also going to play a key role in the new look of the channel in terms of their individual expertise. The General English news channel has already gained points in terms of its ratings and now it is just waiting for the response from the audience and industry insiders about their

new look and rebranding that had been planned for a while.

A few top celebrities took to Twitter to congratulate The India Today Group for its new look and design. Mr. Narendra Modi and Mr. Amitabh Bachhan are some of the people who went on twitter to express their best wishes for the India Today Group.
