Film Descriptor (i.e. describing the film):

A little boy in Kerala longs to see snow and dreams of it all day long. His sister one day comes running and asks him if he want to see snow. The little boy though slightly skeptical follows his sister on a magical journey past coconut-fringed backwaters, majestic elephants, colourful temples and streets lined with exotic dancers.

In a parallel journey of sorts, we see Samsung Engineers carrying Samsung Televisions and stacking them together to create a giant dome shaped structure. The journey ends as the kids reach their destination a giant igloo that towers above the green.

The kids run in and discover a magical winter world. And finally the little boy’s dream comes alive as he sees and feels snow inside the igloo.

Key Message:  Feel the Picture with Samsung’s Quantum dot technology.

Excerpt from Company Spokesperson

Sagar Mahabaleshwarkar, Chief Creative Officer said, “Most television advertising is a mere visual demonstration of sharper pictures and vivid colours. For Samsung Televisions we decided to move beyond and give an emotional angle to it. The little child in each one of us who has or still longs to see snow was the inspiration behind the commercial.

Mohit Mishra, Vice President, Integrated Services, Cheil Worldwide said, “Quantum dot is the most state-of-the-art technology in the TV category that redefines the conventional picture quality delivering a lifelike viewing experience. The challenge for us was to bring alive the benefit of Quantum dot through simple yet emotional story telling. The simplicity of the thought has been crafted into a visual spectacle making it an experience to look forward to.”

Damodaran Krishnan and Somenath Chakraborty, Group Creative Directors, Cheil Worldwide said, “The challenge was to present a fresh perspective to television advertising and at the same time align with the brand’s promise of a picture so real that you can feel it. The simple desire of a little kid has been crafted into a visual spectacle. Coupled with Swanand’s lyrics and Shankar’s singing that add a touch a magic to the ad”.
