LinkedIn reaches 300mn member milestone!

LinkedIn has accomplished a credible milestone, reaching 300 million LinkedIn members across the global workforce with 100 million of these members in the United States. LinkedIn acknowledges this is an exciting step towards their vision of creating economic opportunity for every one of the 3.3 billion people in the global workforce.

As LinkedIn grows, membership has become more diverse, the value delivered to members has increased and mobile plays a critical role. Over 50 percent of LinkedIn global traffic uses mobile, with more than 15 million profile views, 1.46 million job views and 31,000 job applications in over 200 countries through mobile every day. Hong Kong, along with Malaysia, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sweden, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates use LinkedIn more on their mobile devices than on their desktop computers.

In anticipation of the mobile moment, two years ago LinkedIn started developing multiple LinkedIn mobile apps to fit the different needs of our diverse members. Each of these apps is customized and tailored to a member-specific use case. LinkedIn is also focused on bringing on top notch partnerships with companies like Apple,Nokia, Samsung and more strategic partnerships throughout the year.

LinkedIn will continue to invest in building out what can be offered to the members in key countries. Earlier this year, LinkedIn expanded its presence in China with the launch of a beta version of new Simplified Chinese site. LinkedIn expects to connect the more than 140 million Chinese professionals with each other and the global workforce. 

The global footprint of LinkedIn offers the necessary elements to continue building the world’s first Economic Graph. As LinkedIn continues to grow, the company will be able to keep improving this valuable map of the connections between people, companies, jobs, skills, educational institutions and professional knowledge in the global economy.
