Delhi’s budget tourist hubs like Paharganj and Karol Bagh will soon get a facelift before next year’s Commonwealth Games.

Many tourists prefer to stay in these two areas, though crowded and rundown in places, due to the affordable accommodation they offer besides their central location.

The two congested areas of the national capital that house innumerable budget hotels and crummy guest houses will get a makeover and according to the reports, transport ministry had already allocated Rs 44 crore for Paharganj and Rs 33 crore for Karol Bagh to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), which takes care of the two areas.

India expects over 100,000 tourists during the Oct 3-14, 2010, Commonwealth Games.
