The Kolkata High Court has restrained Hindustan Unilever from comparing Tide detergent brand in their advertisements, providing breathing space to Procter & Gamble (P&G).

According to the reports, the court has said that the said advertisement to promote its detergent Rin could not be aired in any form of media as it disparages P&G product Tide.

Post the launch of this ad Procter and Gamble had filed a suit against Hindustan Unilever and demanded Rs 1 billion in damages.

Reports say that P&G has stated in the claim that the advertisement was made with malice intentions.
