Jose Mourinho will face his former charges for the first time since he left the manager’s hotseat at Stamford Bridge when Inter Milan face Chelsea -in the first leg of their second round tie (Round of 16) in the UEFA Champions League at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Milan , San Siro to all football fans. During his three seasons in charge of Chelsea FC, José Mourinho was unable to lead them to the UEFA Champions League title and as coach of FC Internazionale Milano he is now aiming to end his former side’s hopes of realising their dream.

Just how effective he will be on match day can be seen LIVE on Ten Sports delayed on Zee Sports. The tie also holds great resonance for Mourinho’s opposite number, Carlos Ancelotti, who makes a swift return to the city where for eight years he held the reins at Inter’s fierce rivals AC Milan, twice guiding the Rossoneri to UEFA Champions League glory.

Former English Footballer Scott Minto will be a guest on the interactive Ten Sports Studio show hosted by Joe Morrison, and he considered this tie to the be highlight of this week’s games.

“Seeing Jose Mourinho entertain his former team Chelsea at `The San Siro’ is going to be the highlight of this weeks ties. “The Special One” will be intent on getting a victory over his old charges but I just don’t think this Inter Milan side is good enough to get the better of Chelsea. I know my old team have had a few wobbles lately in the league but they are suited to the European style and in Didier Drogba they have a striker who is on fire. I see a narrow away win for Chelsea.”

VfB Stuttgart v Barcelona – VfB Arena, Stuttgart
VfB Stuttgart will host Champion League holders Barcelona, at home in the last-16 tie and the Spanish side realize that the Bundesliga team will not be easy to face. The reason being that when Stuttgart came out of the hat on Dec. 19 they were 15th in the Bundesliga standings, with two league wins, and only goal difference standing between them and the relegation playoff spot. Since then the Germans jumped to ninth in the table after seven wins in eight games under former Tottenham Hotspur coach Christian Gross and they therefore go into the first leg against Barca full of confidence. The Catalans have included Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Daniel Alves and Xavi in their squad and will go all out to prove their supremacy. Tune into TEN Sports for live coverage and delayed telecast on Zee Sports of this game. (please check schedule)

The Ten Sports Studio Show guest Paul Walsh, former Liverpool and Tottenhamspur centre forward, felt that the Catalans would find the German side tough to break.

“Reigning champions Barcelona on paper look to have a comfortable tie against Stuttgart but if there is one thing I know about German teams is that they are well organised, hard to break down and capable of hitting you on the counter attack. This wont be easy for the Catalans but I do think they have so much quality that they will be able to return to Spain with at least a draw and probably a win.”

Olympiakos Piraeus v Girondins Bordeaux – Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, Piraeus

Olympiakos Piraeus winger Jaouad Zairi feels that the Crowds are the 12th man for their side and warned Girondins Bordeaux to expect a red-hot reception from the crowd in their Champions League last-16 first leg match. The atmosphere at the Karaiskakis Stadium promises to be electric and the visitors will have to have nerves of steel not to be affected by it. But the Greeks realize that the Bordeaux side are in form and under their able coach Laurent Blanc, they are on op of the Ligue 1 table. But Olympiakos, coached by Serbian Bozidar Bantovic, have an unblemished home record in this season’s competition following 1-0 victories over AZ Alkmaar and Arsenal and a 2-1 win over Standard Liege. All the action can be seen live on Zee Sports and delayed on Ten Sports (please check schedule)

CSKA Moskva v Sevilla – Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow

PFC CSKA Moskva are breaking new ground with a place in the UEFA Champions League knockout rounds as they face a difficult test in hosting a Sevilla FC side, who have shown in their two campaigns that mixing with the cream of Europe holds no fears for them. The Moscow club qualified for the group stage of the inaugural UEFA Champions League in 1992/93 having won through the first two rounds, but in their four subsequent campaigns this is the first time they have progressed from their section. On the other hand the Spanish side are an attacking unit with the likes of Kanoute, Adriano, Navas and Fabiano. They can also now depend on new signings Alvaro Negredo, Renato and the brilliant Diego Capel as they go into this game.
