Maruti Suzuki's COO Mayank Pareek quits!

Maruti Suzuki has been in the news for a while now with some senior level changes being done, since the last couple of months. Early this year, the company sidelined top level executives - M M Singh, Chief Operating Officer (production), S Y Siddiqui, COO, HR and administration. After Sudam Maitra’s move, who was the in –charge of supply chain, Mayank Pareek’s exit is said to be the second move amongst the top level people.

Sources confirm the news to Adgully and state that Pareek who was last seated as the COO, departs from the auto company with an extensive service of about two decades. Thought the reasons for his exit are still unclear, it is speculated that he may be heading to Tata Motors.

It may be noted that Pareek decided to resign at the time when the company is set to launch its premium sedan Ciaz, which is slated for October, 2014.

Pareek has done his B tech, Engineering from IIT, Varanasi, he also holds a PG degree in Business Management from IIM, Bangalore, 

He joined Maruti Suzuki in 1991 and was with the company till 2014. At Maruti Suzuki he headed the Marketing & Sales function at Maruti Suzuki, India's largest Passenger Car Company. The responsibility included Sales & Marketing in Domestic and International Markets, managing Aftermarket, Service and Logistics. He took care of top line as well as bottom line responsibilities.
