Public sector telecom operator BSNL is giving a clear competition to the private telecom companies. As Reliance Communication and other operators are adopting pay per second system on pre-aid schemes and introducing SMS service and calls tariffs at 0.50 paise. BSNL has also introduced the same service with two tariff plans.

Apart from these plans, BSNL has also launched a special Tariff voucher for Rs. 99, which will enable users to make local, STD calls and send SMSs at the price of Rs.0.50 paise.
