Nokia – the world’s largest cell phone vendor is now planning to sell its handsets on Internet in India. It plans to focus on digital marketing big time for its top-end multimedia handsets like – ‘N Series, ‘E Series and ‘Xpress Music’.

More strategies have been made only when Nokia got huge success in some of its recent online marketing campaign in India for handsets like – N 97, Nokia musical store, Ovi application store.

Nokia’s (India) digital marketing plan is manage by Wunderman. Its media buying agency is Maxus.

As per media sources, Nokia (India), Head (activation, media, online sales and marketing) Viral Oza said, “Since the N Series, E Series and XpressMusic phones have high technology capabilities, they lend themselves more to online marketing. Some such digital media campaigns will also feature our brand ambassadors, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. We are amongst the largest spenders in the digital marketing space in India.”

“Since mobile services are a major focus area for us in India, they will also lend themselves more to digital marketing. However, each of these products and services will also have a traditional marketing plan. Just that, they may be more skewed towards the digital medium,” Oza added.

Oza further added, “We already sell it in some countries. This model is yet to evolve in India but has potential as the number of online purchases is picking up. But since almost all online purchases are due to the convenience and price, we may have to offer some good value deals to the consumers.”

As per media sources, Nokia India may also start selling mobile phones on Internet. Nokia has plans to soon commercially launch its push email service, Nokia messaging, in India along with telecom operators. It is working on an array of affordable touch screen phones, dual-SIM phones and grows its portfolio of 3G phones. Nokia also plans to launch a 3G handset – Nokia 2730, which it claims will break the high prices of such handsets in India.

The reason so many marketers hawk the idea that you can make tons of money right away, without a website, is because there are thousands of people everyday, desperate, surfing the net, needing money fast, and they don’t want to waste time learning the basics! They want to make money now!
