Fox TV Studios India appoints Nachiket Pantvaidya as MD

Fox Television Studios India has appointed Nachiket Pantvaidya, till recently the CEO of Balaji Telefilms’ TV content business, as its new managing director. The information was revealed by a source apprised of the appointment; he said that Fox would make the formal announcement soon.

Fox Television Studios, a major world player in the TV-show production business, is a unit of News Corp.‘s Fox Entertainment Group, which owns Star India – one of the country’s principal private broadcasters.

Fox Television Studios’ competitors include Endemol of Mediaset; and Fremantle Media of Bertelsmann AG. Endemol has a formidable presence in India, with shows such as Bigg Boss. Fremantle has recently said that it would start its operations in the country soon.

As for Pantvaidya, he could not be contacted for comment, and same was the case with the current head of Fox TV Studios India, Mohinder Walia.

Before his stint with Balaji Telefilms, Pantvaidya, who is an IIM Ahmedabad graduate, was BBC Worldwide‘s general manager, south Asia. He has also been Walt Disney’s executive director, programming and production.
