Technology giant, Microsoft, has decided to withdraw its sponsorship towards Family Guy – a cartoon series in US that is famous for its sardonic nature. It was reported that Microsoft took this decision after the company’s executives were shown a preview of the show that featured pervert jokes pertaining to sensitive issues like incest and Holocaust.

While inking a deal with Family Guy, Microsoft had aimed at targeting the tech savvy youth to promote its operating system Windows 7. The deal with show’s writers, Seth MacFarlane and Alex Borstein was to produce a 3-minute show featuring a draft on comedy in animated and live sections. There was a plan to have jokes promoting Windows 7 during commercial breaks.
During the preview, the content of the show presented sponsored jokes and regular Family Guy stuff, the latter not being liked by Microsoft’s honchos. It was reported that Fox network will telecast the special episode of Family Guy on 8 November but will use another sponsor for the show.
