Weekend Exclusive | Modeling was my passion and acting on television has widened my horizon: Kushal Tondon

Kushal Tondon, the lead actor on star plus's show "Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna", who won the Mr. India Grasim award in 2005, has walked the ramp for Lakme fashion week, Provogue and been the face for many advertisements like Sony Ericsson, Skoda, Activia, Airtel, Dairy Milk and has also shared screen space with Amitabh Bachchan for Reid & Taylor.

In a exclusive chat with Adgully, Kushal Tondon, model turned actor, spoke about his life, career and much more.

Speaking about his journey till now and sharing the key highlights of the same, Tandon said, "I graduated from New York Film Academy ' Los Angeles in 2010. In 2005 I won the Grasim Mr. India award. I was the youngest winner ever to win this coveted title. I campaigned for many products of various national and multinational companies. I walked the ramp for fashion shows like Lakme Fashion Week, shows for Provoge, Spykar, Giordano. I have been the face for brands like Sony Ericsson, Skoda, Activia, Airtel, Dairy Milk, Only Vimal, Kawasaki Bajaj and shared screen space with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan for Reid & Taylor advertisements."

Telling us about his current show "Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna", he said, "In the show, I play the younger brother of the Wadhtra family. I play the character of Viraat, younger brother of Viren." His personality and character in the show is exactly opposite to his brother. He lives with the family and follows all the family rules, "But personally I believe in my own philosophy of life. Playing pranks is my favorite pastime. I have returned from the UK, after my music was stolen from my girlfriend" Tondon adds.

Well, a model turned actor, has has fruitful experiences in both the industries; but personally,"I enjoy walking the ramp more, he said. "Winning the Grasim award was a prestigious moment in my life. Modeling was my passion and it gave me many opportunities in my life. Acting on television has widened my horizon and I am learning a lot from it too. I can't really chose a favorite between the two", he added.

Speaking about his future projects, Kushal Tandon said, "I haven't really decided that as yet, as I am only focusing on Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna right now. I know that soon I will be seen not only on small screen but on the big screen too!"

Along with being a well known model, Kushal has been a sportsman since childhood. He was a National Silver medal swimmer, a state level hockey and football player. He said, "So, if I am not shooting or working out in the gym, I do go for a swim or play football with my friends. I also enjoy driving and listening to music"

When asked about challenges he has faced through the career path, he said, "As I have always been focused in my career and learned and observed from my seniors, I haven't really faced any challenge or hurdles till date."

Conclusively, Kushal gave a very peaceful advice to upcoming models and actors and said, "Keep focused when you are on the ramp, don't get nervous or scared about the audience.
