Vizeum bags Ikea’s £10 million media planning and buying account

After a final bout between WPP-owned MediaCom and Aegis-owned Vizeum, the latter came out tops to bag Ikea’s media planning and buying account. The account size is pegged at £10 million.

MediaCom was Ikea’s serving agency for the past 10 years. Other agencies that could were in the running initially were ZenithOptimedia, Carat and OMD.
This move from Ikea forms a part of global review of the company’s media requirements that is currently shared between MediaCom and Mediaedge:cia. MediaCom had been an integral part of Ikea and however, in a statement to the media, Ikea spokesperson said that wth Vizeum, the company was aiming to move the business forward with a fresh approach.
