NETWORK18 INITIATIVE, 'MODI SARKAR - YEAR ONE DIALOGUE'

 

As the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government completes a year in office, Network18 organized ‘Modi Sarkar – Year One Dialogue’. The initiative offered a common platform to the key policy makers from the NDA Government and experts from various fields to engage in multiple power-packed panels, eloquent keynotes, Q&A sessions and gripping interactions. The initiative evaluated Modi Government’s performance and contribution towards  the country in the year gone by.

‘Modi Sarkar – Year One Dialogue’ hosted special key note addresses and detailed panel discussions where some of the most respected names in their areas of expertise put forth their views on four significant themes – Make in India, Brand India under PM Modi, Maximum Governance-Minimum Government and Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas.        

Some of the key highlights from the conclave:

Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister of Railways spoke about 'Make In India' and said that the campaign is expected to give a collective thrust to manufacturing in India and seeks greater foreign investment in the country.  This  will prove to be a huge opportunity to ensure more jobs, infrastructure to transform India describing 'Make in India' as a game changer.

Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister of Communications and Information Technology said that India has emerged as a country of compassion, he claimed while citing the example of India’s work done in Nepal and Maldives when these countries faced crisis. He assured that the Modi government was based on good governance. He also said that inflation is under check and the investment is coming into India.

Digvijay Singh, General Secretary, All India Congress Committee on the other hand termed PM Modi as the biggest marketer of today. He also recalled BJP's opposition to Rajiv Gandhi's policy for large scale computerisation of India during 1980s hence, today, BJP has no moral right to talk about Digital India.

Ram Madhav, National General Secretary, BJP praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for elevating the stature of India all over the world. Also he said that PM Modi has restored the respect, dignity and honour of the nation, and emphasised that the government is engaging at multiple levels.

Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Union Minister Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation claimed that India was ranked 65th in the World Competitive Index. Under Modi it has jumped to the 52nd spot in 1 year and said in last one year tourists visiting India have increased manifolds. He thanked Prime Minister for a corruption free government and hailed the evacuation program by the Centre during the recent crisis in West Asia.

Randeep Singh Surjewala, Spokesperson, Indian National Congress while talking on Re-skilling India said that the NDA Government is just taking forward the National Skill Development initiatives of congress Government. 

Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, lauding the Pradhan Mantri Jan DhanYojana, said that there are 25 crore families in India and we have opened 15 crore bank accounts. These are the poor people who have deposited Rs 15,000 crore in these accounts.
