Paytm adds industry heavyweights to it's board

After firmly establishing itself as a leader in the mobile commerce space, Paytm has made three high profile announcements to its board. These include Ruchi Sanghvi - Facebook’s first woman engineer, Neeraj Arora - former WhatsApp global business head and Naveen Tewari - InMobi founder.

Speaking on these appointments, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Founder and CEO of Paytm said, “As a young company, we are pleased to have such stalwarts in our team to help us scale the brand. Ruchi, Neeraj and Naveen all come with tremendous Internet commerce experience with highly renowned brands. We look forward to the strategic contribution they will make towards Paytm’s exciting journey ahead. Their contribution will help in scaling Paytm to become India's most dominant mobile Internet Company. We look to bring global talent and best practices for scaling to half-a-billion Indians on the Paytm platform. I can see our very strong independent board helping us achieve that.”

Ruchi Sanghvi comes with a rich product and tech background. She co-created and managed the News Feed feature on Facebook besides Facebook Connect and Facebook's Developer Conference F8. She has led core areas of product including Facebook Privacy, Notes, Homepage, Profiles, and User Engagement.

Neeraj Arora is amongst the best-connected Silicon Valley Indians. A mergers-and-acquisitions veteran who joined WhatsApp after Google in 2011, Neeraj has largely managed the business side as the mobile-messaging startup grew into a global phenomenon.

Naveen Tewari is an expert in creating world-class organisations from within India. He built InMobi that is a mobile ad tech platform with a focus on making advertising compelling and with the goal of helping users and marketers in making smarter decisions.
