PayU signals extensive brand building plans, ropes in Ex-CEAT Marketing GM

PayU, India’s leading online payment company has further enriched its burgeoning talent pool by announcing the appointment of Prabhakar Tiwari as its CMO. A veteran in the field of marketing and brand building with renowned brands such as CEAT Tyres, Parachute Oil and Danone, Prabhakar brings in his rich experience and fresh approach to spearhead the PR and Marketing activities for PayU.
A topper in Marketing from the IIM-Bangalore 2004 batch, Prabhakar’s extensive career spans 13 years in this field. He started his career at Marico Ltd with a classical FMCG setup, holding different positions of responsibility in marketing and sales functions during his five year tenure.He has also been associated with Avon Beauty Products as the Category Marketing Head and was instrumental in the blockbuster launch of Danone as Head Marketing for their India setup. Prabhakar’s last assignment was with CEAT Limited as GM Marketing, where he was in-charge of product, channel and brand teams.

He won the J&J Award for marketing excellence as the marketing topper of his IIM-B batch, was awarded several times including best marketing innovation and best sales manager during his stint with Marico Ltd, won the MD excellence award 2013-14 at CEAT, and was felicitated as the ‘Marketing Person of the Year 2014-15’ by tyre industry body TRILA. His team achievements include several awards for CEAT marketing campaigns including Effies and Abbysas well as awards in the categories of ‘Social Media Campaign of the Year’ and ‘Effective Digital Media Strategy’ by DMAi, Pitch Youth Marketing, and Global Youth Marketing Awards.
Prabhakaris also an active member of many CMO Peer Group Forums and has contributed to the marketing fraternity by being a jury member for Effies, Impact awards etc& through panel discussions/ speaker assignments.
