Sai Deodhar comes back to TV with Color's Udaan

Sai Deodhar of Saara Aakaash fame is making a comeback on television with Color’s upcoming show Udaan. Apart from Saara Aakaash, Deodhar has also worked in shows like Ek Ladki Anjaani Si, Kashi and others. 

Colors next, Udaan is a fiction show based on societal issues and the struggle of a family, while largely being focused on child labour.

She makes a comeback to television after a hiatus of almost three years. Her character in the show is that of a mother to a baby girl with actor Rajiv Kumar as her husband. The show will show the struggle of a poor family and an unborn girl child who is pawned to a zamindar.

The concept is said to be based upon Mahesh Bhatt’s incomplete film (90’s) titled Girvi which had Ajay Devgn and Pooja Bhatt in the lead. While the film did not release, for reason best known to the makers, the story is now being adapted for the small screen. Robin Bhatt and Javed Siddiqui are the brains behind script of the show.

Udaan’s  promos airing on the GEC having already managed to create curiosity amongst viewers to understand the story of the show.

With Udaan, Colors yet again aims to play its trump card of stories around societal issues. In the past, Colors has brought to its audiences shows like Balika Vadhu, Uttaran, Na Aana Is Des Laado, Phulwa and others.

With the launch of this show, we await to see an ambitious journey of the girl in Udaan…
