All the best and Blue bring smile on Bollywood’s face

The slow and sad Box Office has suddenly got a new freshness, as Diwali releases All the Best and Blue have done well.

Bollywood was waiting long for a hit and finally has a smile on its face as these films have attracted viewers and the films are doing good business.

Though Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Main Aurr Mr Khanna hasn’t been received enthusiastically, other two – Blue and All the Best – have gone well with both audience and critics.

Directorial debut of Anthony D’Souza, Blue was extensively promoted as the country’s first underwater film and the most expensive too with an approximate budget of around Rs.80 crore. The film has managed to bag around Rs.51 crore gross in its opening weekend.

Produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd, it stars Askhay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta and Zayed Khan.
Katrina Kaif, along with Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue, appears in a cameo in the film.

PVR Cinemas that also distributed Blue in North India is still keeping fingers crossed for the movie.

PC and Mobile game of Bollywood flick ‘Blue’

Seems like Bollywood has been finally coming of age as far as the digital world is concerned. In sync with the film’s release, a game on Amir Khan’s Ghajini was also released. To follow Ghajini was Acid Factory recently and now it is Akshay Kumar starrer Blue to take to the gaming route.

Hungama Digital Media has launched ‘The Blue Blaze’ – a PC and mobile game that would further accentuate digital promotion of the film. The game is being developed and launched in association with Samsung.

The Blue Blaze is a multi-level game belonging to thriller genre in gaming and delivers an exciting experience to the player. The player will come face to face with the dangers underwater since the game is developed around the deep sea exploration theme of the film Blue.

The digital promotion of Blue will also reach out to users of Twitter through an innovative campaign.

Bollywood to play a solid gamble this Diwali!

Diwali – the festival of lights – brings prosperity in every sector and every year Bollywood plays a gamble of movies to churn out good money. Usually a multi films release on Fridays is considered suicidal but Diwali is the only time when filmmakers deliberately release their films.

In the past, multi film release has proved fruitful for the film Industry. Last year, for instance, Fashion and Golmaal Returns did decent business. So was the case with similar clashes in the past like Veer-Zaara and Aitraaz (2004) or Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998) when both releases did well at the box office.

This Diwali has three big releases lined up and all three seem to be enormously different from each other.

Asthavinayak Creations’ much talked about underwater adventure film ‘Blue’ has big names like Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta, Katrina Kaif and Zayed Khan to bank upon for its collections.

Produced by Ajay Devgan, ‘All The Best’ promises to be a out-and-out rib-tickling comedy. The film stars Devgan himself along with Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu and Mughda Godse.

UTV Motion Pictures is releasing their romantic-comedy ‘Main Aurr Mrs Khanna’ starring Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Sohail Khan.

According to the film critics these films should do good as Diwali is a time when people are willing to spend. So for an exception, even an average audience can watch more than one film.
