The TVCs debut on television on January 12th, 2011. The entire campaign, conceptualized by Law & Kenneth, has three TVCs one of 45 seconds and two of 30 seconds. The film has been directed by Piyush Raghani and is produced by Old School Films. Hungama.com is also doing a parallel digital media campaign. The album takes a thunderous opening with the title track Yamla Pagla Deewana. Credit to RDB who have tried to add bit more of Punjabi folk to the interludes and made the song more lively. Featuring the voice of Sonu Nigam and Nindy Kaur, the music retains the immortal voice of Mohd. Rafi along with Nindy Kaur. Charha De Rang has awesome melody and its tempo shows an upward escalation as the song progresses. The original song is marvellously sung by Rahul Seth, Mahalaxmi Iyer and Shweta Pandit. The other version is the hot favourite for those who prefer melodious tracks over fast paced dance numbers.

Anu Mallik announces his comeback with Tinku Jiya which does the magic with a fast paced item song. The song definitely has the punch to become as big hit since it has all the right ingredients for success.
A romantic number with a western feel comes in next with Sau Baar. The song finds acceptance with the urban audience and makes itself count in a totally desi soundtrack. Chamki Jawaani, proves to be the most fun-filled item number which can be enjoyed many times. Next is Son Titariya – a track that gives the Bhojpuri Film kinda feel. Dharmendra turns lyricist with Kadd Ke Botal which is a total punjabi track with dhol, beats and folk arrangements. The album ends on a positive note with a Gurbaani taken from Shri Guru Granth Sahib.

Yamla Pagla Deewana comes up with a wide variety of songs right from fast paced Item numbers to soothing and melodious romantic numbers and devotional composition.

In a matter of just a week the title track ‘Anjaana Anjaani Ki Kahani’ is much in demand in the clubs.

This spirited and vibrant number is an instant hit with the listeners in the very first go. Sung with a lot of spunk by new entrant Nikhil D’Souza and Monali Thakur (of ‘Zara Zara Touch Me’ fame), ‘Anjaana Anjaani Ki Kahani’ should find itself rise up the popularity chart. This number is followed by another youthful and foot tapping track, ‘Hairat’ sung by Lucky Ali. To add diversity to the album we have Rahat Fateh Ali Khan singing a slow and soulful track ‘Aas Paas Khuda’.

‘Tumse Hi Tumse’ is another outright romantic track sung by Shekhar Ravjiani. It’s written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Anvita Dutt with Caralisa Monteiro contributing with the English Lyrics and also as a singer. One truly classy song in the album is ‘Tujhe Bhula Diya’ which is a Mohit Chauhan number all the way. The album ends with a feel-good factor with the number ‘I Feel Good’ sung and written by Vishal Dadlani. Giving him company is Shilpa Rao (of ‘Khudaa Jaane’ fame).

Keeping in mind the rural background of the film, Indian Ocean has composed the track ‘Desh Mera’ which has a rustic feel to it. From talking about the country in one song the album moves towards talking about price rise in the other.

‘Mehngai Dayain’ is composed by Ram Sampat and sung by Raghubir Yadav. This track gives the feeling of a ‘live on location’ recording. The other track in the album by Indian Ocean is ‘Zindagi Se Darte Ho’. ‘Chola Maati Ke Ram’ is a folk track in the album.

Joining this respected and successful corporate body is Albert Alemida who was Executive VP and Business Head for Sony Entertainment Television (SET) at his last assignment. Prior to SET, Almeida was VP and Regional Account Director, JWT. He will join Hungama Digital Media as COO for the Mobile Business division and will be responsible for Hungama’s Domestic and International Mobile Business element that would span entertainment, platforms and applications businesses.

Almeida’s six years with SET saw him take up several modules of responsibilities that ranged from Head of Marketing to Business Head at SET’s movie channel – Max. Prior to joining SET, Almeida was VP and Regional Account Director at JWT.
