Hungama TV celebrates Shinchan’s birthday

Hungama TV is inviting all its viewers to join their favorite friend Shinchan as he celebrates his birthday on Sunday, July 18, 2010.

On this special day, Shinchan is all set to take his fans through a hilarious series of events with his mom, dad, sister-Himawari and pet-Shiro. The cherry on this birthday cake is — Hungama TV website will air the most creative and witty birthday wishes throughout the day for everyone to see!

The celebrations will continue with the showcase of Shinchan’s debut movie on Hungama TV, Shinchan and Treasures of the Buriburi Kingdom, at 11:00am on Sunday, July 18, 2010, followed by new episodes of this popular show. In this movie, Shinchan is in for an exciting adventure in Buriburi, when his family wins a prize holiday to the southern island. However, there is a twist in the story as this entire affair is masterminded by the evil White Snake Gang who has evil designs on Shinchan. There on begins Shinchan’s adventures which includes getting kidnapped, meeting his look-alike – Prince Sunnokeshi, and finally facing the Buriburi Monster!

Nilay Kumar appointed AVP at Hungama Mobile

Following the appointment of Albert Almeida as COO comes the announcement of filling up the position of assistant vice president from Hungama Mobile. Nilay Kumar has been roped in as the company’s AVP and will report to Albert Almeida. Kumar worked at Comviva as deputy general manager before this. He will be responsible for managing the services portfolio.

Indian market has been experiencing healthy growth in the telecom industry and Hungama Mobile is working towards offering better services. Nilay Kumar comes with a healthy experience of the technology sector and will help Hungama Mobile establish and strengthen its functioning in the value added services domain.

During his professional associations, Kumar has worked with companies like Comviva, Airtel Mobility, Essar Cellphone and Tata during the space of 11 years.

PC and Mobile game of Bollywood flick ‘Blue’

Seems like Bollywood has been finally coming of age as far as the digital world is concerned. In sync with the film’s release, a game on Amir Khan’s Ghajini was also released. To follow Ghajini was Acid Factory recently and now it is Akshay Kumar starrer Blue to take to the gaming route.

Hungama Digital Media has launched ‘The Blue Blaze’ – a PC and mobile game that would further accentuate digital promotion of the film. The game is being developed and launched in association with Samsung.

The Blue Blaze is a multi-level game belonging to thriller genre in gaming and delivers an exciting experience to the player. The player will come face to face with the dangers underwater since the game is developed around the deep sea exploration theme of the film Blue.

The digital promotion of Blue will also reach out to users of Twitter through an innovative campaign.

Hungama Mobile ropes in Albert Almeida as COO

It all started in 1999 when Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Pvt Ltd started its operations as an online promotions agency. Ten years hence, the company has come a long way and prides itself in advertising the organization as a complete digital entertainment, mobile services and promotions marketing unit.

Joining this respected and successful corporate body is Albert Alemida who was Executive VP and Business Head for Sony Entertainment Television (SET) at his last assignment. Prior to SET, Almeida was VP and Regional Account Director, JWT. He will join Hungama Digital Media as COO for the Mobile Business division and will be responsible for Hungama’s Domestic and International Mobile Business element that would span entertainment, platforms and applications businesses.

Almeida’s six years with SET saw him take up several modules of responsibilities that ranged from Head of Marketing to Business Head at SET’s movie channel – Max. Prior to joining SET, Almeida was VP and Regional Account Director at JWT.

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Chairman, Board of Directors, Hungama Digital Media, said, “Mobile entertainment is at an inflection point, with more people across the world consuming entertainment content digitally. With Albert’s vast & diverse experience in the entertainment and marketing spheres, he would be an asset to Hungama and its partners across the world.”
