Disney Channel partners with Apalya TV to offer Disney Mobile TV

Disney Channel’s popular shows for kids and families will now be available to them on their mobile and data card service anywhere, anytime beginning October 27, 2010. The channel has entered a deal with Apalya TV — India’s largest content aggregator for mobile TV services.

This is the first time that Disney Channel’s long form content will be available to mobile and data card users across India. Apalya TV services are available over all leading mobile networks such as Idea, Vodafone, Airtel, Aircel, BSNL, MTNL, Reliance, Docomo, Tata Indicom, Tata Photon Plus, Virgin VFlash, Reliance Net Connect etc.

Kids and families will be able to view all their favorite Disney Channel shows such as Phineas and Ferb, Kya Mast Hai Life, Ishaan, The Suite Life on Deck, Wizards of Waverly Place and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on their mobile handsets or through their data card connection.

TTL to bring CWG’10 on mobile

Telecom service provider, Tata Teleservices Limited, has launched a Commonwealth 2010 Value Added Service portfolio for all its customers across the Tata DOCOMO, Tata Indicom and Virgin Mobile brands. The service ensures extensive Commonwealth Games information dissemination to subscribers, with real-time updates, happenings, alerts, results, interesting facts and much more.

Tata Indicom customers can access four services—Commonwealth Games on SMS, Commonwealth Games Zone, Commonwealth Games Radio and Commonwealth Games Theme as Welcome Tune. Tata DOCOMO customers can avail four services—Commonwealth Games on SMS, Download of Commonwealth Theme Songs by AR Rehman and Kailash Kher as My Song & CRBT, Commonwealth Games on Radio and a Special Zone on the Tata DOCOMO Dive In portal. Tata Indicom launches ‘Doctor on Call’ service

In continuation of our efforts to make a difference using mobile technology, Tata Teleservices Limited today announced a unique service called Doctor on Call in partnership with Rx Healthcare Magic Pvt. Ltd. This service provides assistance under any medical emergency situations and also provides medical consultations. The calls for consultation are chargeable at Rs. 9/- per minute.

Tata Indicom subscribers pan India can access Doctor on Call service by simply dialing 54887. Based on an IVR system, medical consultancy will be offered by doctors who are experienced and once the subscriber calls on this service the doctors through a clinical procedure would assesses the health problems. On the sole discretion of the caller, medical history would be asked which includes complete information on age/ sex/ marital status/ location/ medical history & clinical history.

Launching this unique service, S Ramakrishna, Regional COO – South East, TATA INDICOM said, “It gives us immense pleasure and pride to launch Doctor on Call service using mobile technology. To avail Tata Indicom – Doctor on Call service, subscribers need to dial 54887, and a doctor registers the personal data and medical history of the subscriber. The attending Doctor diagnoses the cases whether they feel that the subscribers’ case falls under the given three options- Acute/ Chronic/ Emergency. If it is an acute condition, the caller will be given three different diagnoses by the attending doctor who will also suggest some home remedy to the caller for immediate relief.

In a Chronic condition, the attending doctor will suggest a future course of action like change in lifestyle or taking preventive measures. In case of Emergency, attending doctor will suggest that the patient is rushed to the emergency ward of nearest hospital and end the call.

TATA Indicom introduces ‘Call-n-Tweet’ service

Tata Teleservices Limited has launched Kirusa’s path-breaking ‘Call-n-Tweet’ service for all TTSL and TTML subscribers. This unique ‘Call-n-Tweet’ service will enable Tata Indicom subscribers to update their Twitter status by posting Voice Tweets (short audio snippets) from their mobile without logging on the internet.

Commenting on the launch, Lloyd Mathias, Chief Marketing Officer, Tata Teleservices Limited said, “Online social networking is completely integrated with today’s lifestyle. The need to be connected to friends and acquaintances at your own pace, is gaining momentum day by day. At last count, Twitter was attracting 190 million visitors per month and generating 65 million tweets a day. We wanted to give our subscribers an amazing option to log on to Twitter 24X7.”

The new Call-n-Tweet service is available to all TTSL and TTML subscribers across India, whatever the mobile handset model is. A subscriber can sign up for the service at callntweet.com by using his Twitter account details. Subscribers need to just dial 50007 and send a voice tweet to update their status on Twitter. A user can speak in any language. A voice tweet surpasses the limitation of 140 characters.

The subscribers pay a price of Re 0.80 (approximately 0.02 USD) for sending a voice tweet from their mobile. The Call-n-Tweet service on Tata Teleservices network leverages the superior capabilities of Voice SMS that had been sourced from Kirusa.

TTL registers 75-million-subscribers

Tata Teleservices Limited, India’s fastest-growing dual-technology telecom service provider, has added 2.32 million new subscribers (wireless and wireline) in the month of July 2010 to cross the 75-million-subscribers’ milestone in a short span of just over five-and-a-half years since the launch of its mobile telephony services in early 2005.

The company closed the month of July with a total of 76,058,908 subscribers (wireless and wireline), as on 31 July 2010. The crossing of the 75-million-subscribers’ mark by Tata Teleservices Limited and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited is all the more commendable as the company has shown a subscriber growth rate of more than 100 per cent in the last 12 months—from 38 million subscribers in July 2009.

Commenting on the landmark achievement, Anil Sardana, Managing Director of Tata Teleservices Limited, said: “We thank and appreciate every subscriber’s faith in us as a transparent, caring and efficient telecom services company. Primesite ropes in Shermann Colaco

The Mudra Max owned Primesite has appointed Shermann Colaco as general manager.

Prior to this, Shermann was the management supervisor – account management for Ogilvy & Mather.

Shermann has over 13 years of experience in the advertising industry. He has worked with companies such as Barclays Bank, Axis Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Tata Indicom, AXN, Airtel, HBO, Hindustan Lever and Star Plus.

Shermann started his career with Primesite Outdoor advertising in 1999 and moved on to The Media Network in 2001.

He worked with Madison Outdoor Media Services and later, in 2002 moved to Portland India Outdoor advertising as group account director.

Manish Bhatt quits Contract

The senior vice-president and executive creative director of Contract Advertising, Manish Bhatt, has quit the agency.

Bhatt is taking a break from advertising for a while and will pursue his interest in political communication. He will work as the communications advisor to the state of Gujarat.

Bhatt had recently undertaken a regional project for Contract’s client, Tata Indicom, in Gujarat, wherein a tribute to the state had to be created with the brand woven in. Bhatt wrote a song in Gujarati and created a music video for it featuring 25 Gujarati celebrities.

Bhatt has produced some of the best ads in the advertising agency like – Tata Indicom (Suno dil ki awaaz launch), Aegon Religare, Domino’s (Khushiyon ki home delivery), Cadbury Celebrations and Asian Paints Tractor Emulsion (the Budget Wedding campaign).

Don’t get the time to watch your favourite cartoons? Now you can watch them on your own mobile phone. Channels like CNN, Cartoon Network and Pogo can be watched.

Turner International India and Apalya Technologies, an end-to-end mobile video solution enabler, have come together to provide Pogo, Cartoon network and CNN on mobile nationwide.

According to the agreement, CNN, Cartoon Network and Pogo will now be available to subscribers of Airtel, Aircel (Tamil Nadu), BSNL, Idea Cellular, Reliance Mobile (GSM), Tata Indicom ( CDMA), Tata Docomo and Vodafone.

The service is also available on 3G networks namely BSNL (East and North) and MTNL (Delhi). Through this, Turner International wants to further strengthen its presence in the wireless and emerging technologies business in India.
