TV This Week| Colors back to No.3 position, Star Plus and Life OK lose viewership

TAM ratings for week 30th showed some positive signs for most Hindi movie channels and while a mixed bag for the Hindi GEC’s.

Star Plus still tops GEC the charts, however has seen a drop in viewership this week, while Zee TV comes in on the second spot. Bouncing back to the third place is Colors, followed by Life OK, Sony Entertainment Television and SAB TV.

While Zee TV, Colors, SET and SAB TV have registered growth this week, Star India’s Hindi GEC’s – Star Plus and Life OK have witnessed decline in viewership.

As per viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 30, 2014 (20th July - 26th July) for CS 4+, HSM MARKETS, detailed below is the data of the top 6 GEC’s performance in week 30 along with previous week’s figures enlisted in the brackets:

Star Plus showed decline in viewership having recorded 709317 million GVTs (gross TV viewership in million) as against 711977 million GVTs recorded last week.

Zee TV at 2nd position too showed growth in viewership of 438914 million GVTs as against 436478.

This week Colors made it to No. 3 position again as it recorded growth of 397824 million GVTs as compared to 347095 last week.

Life OK dropped down to No.4 position as it recorded decline in viewership with 360675 million GVT’s against 361347 last week.

This week proved good for SET as this week channel showed increase in viewership of 288358 million GVTs as against 270480 in the last week.

SAB TV’s viewership too showed growth 275380 million GVTs against 267631 million GVTs last week.

Following is the market-wise program performance of Hindi Movie channels in Week 30 2014:

Star Gold tops the chart as it registered growth of 225064 GVT’s against recorded 182651 last week. Though Sony Max came down to No. 2 position, it showed growth of 211827 GVTs against 198478 last week; Z Cinema is at No. 3 with growth of 197925 GVT’s as against 195356 GVTs last week.

&pictures is grew by95585  GVT’s  compared to 91350 GVTs last week; UTV Movies recorded growth of 82712 GVT’s as compare to 75453 GVTs last week. Star GOLD, Movies OK showed growth of  GVT’s 146363 as compare to 140784 GVT’s last week and is at No.4 position. Sony Max2 showed decline of 37233 GVT’s this week as compare to 37324 GVTs last week.
