TV this week: Nos. surged for Star Plus!

Star Plus in week 15 has broken its previous record and clocked a whopping 748 million GVTs on the back of its weekday programming including the game of dice and cheer haran which were the highlights of the popular show Mahabharat on the channel. This widely watched episode fetched a rating of 9.1 this week. Other shows too on the channel have witnessed increased viewership and helped it widen the gap with other GECs. Zee TV with a huge leap in its score has once again jumped to 2nd position thus pushing Colors to 3rd spot while SAB TV has added to its gross viewership and overtaken Sony which is back to its original 6th spot in the GEC list as indicated by the viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 15, 2014 (April 6 – April 12 ) for CS 4+, HSM markets. 
Detailed below is the data of the GEC’s ratings for this week with previous week’s figures enlisted in the brackets:

Star Plus at the top of the GEC chart witnessed a huge climb in viewership this week to record 748 million GVTs (gross TV viewership in million) as against 702 million GVTs recorded last week. The channel added 46 million TVTs this week

Zee TV with an increase of 39 million TVTs has grabbed 2nd spot again and recorded 464 GVTs in week 15 (last week 426 GVTs).

Colors, has slipped to 3rd position. A marginal decline is seen in the ratings as the channel recorded 451 million GVTs as against last week’s 454 million GVTs.
Life OK is steady at no. 4. The channel lost viewership and registered 376 million GVTs (last week 385 million GVTs).

SAB TV ratings registered improvement this week as it added 16 million TVTs thus recording a score of 314 million GVTs (299 million GVTs) and grabbed the no. 5 spot again.

Sony Entertainment Television ratings dipped in week 15, as the channel lost eyeballs and    recorded 308 million GVTs (last week 312 million). Subsequently the channel has been pushed to no. 6 spot once again.

Sahara One ratings have declined even further to record 24 million GVTs (30 million GVTs) in week 15, 2014.

Star Plus

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus scored 13.4 TVM this week (11.9 TVM). Saathiya recorded 10.7 TVM (9.8). Star Plus’ epic series, Mahabharat garnered 9.1 TVM this week (6.6 TVM).Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fetched 7.9 TVM (7.7 TVM).  Saraswatichandra garnered 6.6 TVM (last week 4.9 TVM). Veera clocked 6.7 TVM (last week 6.9 TVM). Pyaar Ka Dard Hai fetched 5.8 TVM (last week 6.3 TVM).

Zee TV

Jodha Akbar ratings witnessed an increase with on 9.3 TVM (last week 8.9 TVM). Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se has entered the top-10 club registering average viewership of 6 TVM (last week 5.1 TVM).

SAB TV

Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma viewership increased this week as it registered 7.9 TVM (last week 7.4 TVM).

Top shows in the weekend slot are as follows:-

Comedy Night with Kapil on Colors fetched 9.1 TVM  (last week 9.7). Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi lost eyeballs as dropped to 6 TVM (last week 7.1).
Fear Files on Zee TV garnered 2.7 TVM ( last week’s 2.8 TVM). Dance India Dance L’il Masters Season 3 lost viewership this week as the show recorded  3.9 TVM this week (last week 4.3 TVM).

Hatim on Life OK fetched 2.3 TVM (last week 2.3) and Shapath on the channel  recorded 2.1 TVM (last week 2.8).

Crime show CID on Sony , registered 4.8 TVM  (last week 5.4 TVM.)  Crime Patrol garnered 2.6 TVM (last week 2.9) and Encounter on the channel saw slight improvement as it garnered 2.4 TVM in the opening week
