TV This Week | SET records growth, while Life OK slips to No.6

Week 34 of TAM ratings appear to be a mixed bag for the some GEC’s registering growth as against others who failed to do so. On the other side Hindi Movie channels too have shown average growth in ratings this week. Off the ones on the greener side of the fence are Sony Entertainment Television, SAB TV and Zee TV, while others – Star Plus, Life OK and Colors were in the other side.

Star Plus still tops the Hindi GEC chart followed by Zee TV at No.2; Colors continues to be at No.3, followed by SET at No.4, SAB TV at No.5 and Life OK at No.6 position.

As per viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 34, 2014 (17th Aug - 23rd Aug) for CS 4+, HSM MARKETS, detailed below is the data of the top 6 GEC’s performance in week 34 along with previous week’s figures enlisted in the brackets:

According to this week’s TAM data, though seated at the top position, Star Plus showed decline in viewership and recorded 387863 million GVTs (gross TV viewership in million) as against 467432 million GVTs recorded last week.

At the second spot, Zee TV showed growth in viewership and received 289254 million GVTs as against 277921. ZEE TV’s show Jodha Akbar was ranked No.1 show, while Kumkum Bhagya was No.2 in fiction amongst all Hindi GECs in Week 34.

Colors, at No. 3 showed decline in viewership with 269794 million GVTs as compared to 291669 last week.

This week turned out to be good for SET, which, place at No. 4 recorded growth in viewership of 250600 million GVTs as against 173320 in the last week.

SAB TV too gained viewership of 202230 million GVTs against 190561million GVTs last week at the 5th position.

Life OK showed decline this week too and dropped to No. 6 with 193578 million GVT’s against 201684 last week.

Following is the market-wise program performance of Hindi Movie channels in Week 34 2014:
This week Sony Max is at No. 1 position with 151823 GVT's as against 132860 GVT's last week followed by Star GOLD at No. 2 which showed decline in  viewership of 150136 GVT’s against recorded 162708 GVT's last week. Z Cinema slipped to No.3 recorded 117635 GVT's showing decline as compared to 181720 GVT's last week. Movies OK at No.4 position showed growth with 114562 GVT's compared to 102431 GVT's last week. & Pictures is at No.5 with growth of 80997 as compared to 66045 GVT's last week followed by UTV Movies with growth of 54572 GVT's as compare to 50596 GVT's last week. Sony Max2 showed decline in compare to last weeks as received 29694 GVT's as compared to 38535 GVT's in week 34.
