TV This Week | Star Plus retains top position, Hindi movie channels grow positively!

While this week’s TAM ratings showed good results for some Hindi GEC’s, however, week 33 TAM ratings have shown higher positive sign for the Hindi movie channels.

Showing decline in viewership, Star Plus still leads the GEC channel chart followed by Zee TV at No.2; as Colors continues to be at No.3, Life OK came is at the 4 position followed by Sony Entertainment Television and SAB TV.

As per viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 33, 2014 (10th Aug - 16th Aug) for CS 4+, HSM MARKETS, detailed below is the data of the top 6 GEC’s performance in week 33 along with previous week’s figures enlisted in the brackets:

According to this week's data, Star Plus is at No.1 position and has recorded 688618 million GVTs (gross TV viewership in million) as against 711648 million GVTs recorded last week.

At the second spot, Zee TV showed significant growth in viewership and received 453012 million GVTs as against 414540.

Retaining its No.3 position, Colors manages to gain growth in viewership with 410774 million GVTs as compared to  403053 last week.

Life OK, at No.4 position also showed decline in viewership with 301994 million GVT’s against 311640 last week.

SET too recorded decline in viewership of 262647 million GVTs as against 278432 in the last week.

SAB TV gained viewership of 278215 million GVTs against 277018 million GVTs last week at the 6th position.

Following is the market-wise program performance of Hindi Movie channels in Week 33 2014:

This week Z Cinema is at No. 1 position with 281309 GVT's as against 190848 GVT's last week followed by Star GOLD at No. 2 which showed growth in  viewership of 240422 GVT’s against recorded 224511 GVT's last week. Sony Max still remains at No.3 recorded 217784 GVT's showing increased as compared to 182959 GVT's last week. Movies OK at No.4 position showed growth with 159782 GVT's compared to 157444 GVT's last week. & Pictures is at No.5 with growth of 98434 as compared to 84042 GVT's last week followed by UTV Movies with 75467 GVT's as compare to 67865 GVT's last week. Sony Max2 too showed pleasant growth of 47810 GVT's as compared to 44709 GVT's in week 32.
