Vice Media set for India foray in partnership with the Times Group

Vice Media, the global youth media brand founded by Shane Smith, is all geared to enter India in partnership with the Times Group. The partnership will see the launch of TV channel Viceland in the country, which will be a paid TV network.

Vice Media and the Times Group will also set up a new bureau and a production hub in Mumbai as well as local production studios across India to create original content related to news and lifestyle across platforms – television, mobile, digital and linear platforms. The partnership is in the process of hiring leading journalists and filmmakers for the venture.

Times Global Partners, an initiative from the Times Group that promotes launch of emerging global digital companies in India, has facilitated this partnership. Times Global Partners’s earlier partnerships include Uber, Airbnb and other digital businesses.
