Zee Media Q2 FY17 ad revenues up 8.3% at Rs 982.4 mn

Zee Media Corporation has reported consolidated revenues of Rs 1,261.6 million for the second quarter ended September 30, 2016. The Network incurred Operating Expenditure of Rs 1,081.6 million in the second quarter.

Advertising revenues for Q2 FY2017 grew by 8.3 per cent over Q2 FY2016 to Rs 982.4 million, while it grew by 7 per cent to Rs 2,005.8 million for H1 FY17 over H1FY16.

 EBITDA for Q2 FY2017 grew by 147.5 per cent over Q2 FY2016 to Rs 180 million and by 57.9 per cent to Rs 357.1 million in H1 FY17 over Rs 226.2 million in H1 FY16.

 Net loss before tax reduced from Rs 271.8 million in H1 FY16 to Rs 183.3 million in H1 FY17.

 Operating expenditure reduced by 9.7 per cent to Rs 1,081.6 million in Q2 FY2017 from Rs 1,197.7 million in Q2 FY2016. For H1 FY17, it stood at Rs 2,186.8 million, a reduction of 8.8 per cent over H1 FY16.

 Business Highlights

 The 10 news channels of ZMCL, comprising three national and seven regional channels, reached more than 281.7 million viewers, emerging as the largest TV news network in the country.
