19 new categories & 96 new brands advertised in 48 matches of IPL 15: TAM Sports

As the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) moves towards the play-off stage, the number of advertisers is seeing an upsurge. As per TAM Sports data, when comparing 48 matches from IPL seasons 14 and 15, the average ad volume per channel increased by 11% during IPL 15 over IPL 14. The count of advertisers and brands were highest in the 6th week of IPL 15, with 105 brands, 74 advertisers and 51 categories reported.

Four out of the Top 5 categories were common between IPL 14 and 15 in first 48 matches. These were E-Com Gaming, Pan Masala, E-com Wallets, and E-com Education. During the first 48 matches, the Top 5 categories’ list had 4 categories from the ‘E-commerce’ Sector, with 32% share of the Ad Volumes in IPL 15.

The Top 5 categories together had nearly 40% share of the Ad Volumes in IPL 15. While the Top 5 categories had accounted for 36% share of the ad volumes in IPL 14.

Sporta Technologies, Think & Learn and KP Pan Foods were the three common advertisers among Top 5 advertisers during IPL 15 and IPL 14. The Top 5 Advertisers contributed 24% share of the Ad Volumes during 48 matches of IPL 15.

Nineteen new categories and 96 new brands advertised in 48 matches of IPL 15, compared to the same number of matches in IPL 14. Among the new categories, Ecom-Auto Rental Services topped the list, followed by Corporate/ Brand Image.

Among the 96 new brands, ‘Tataneu App’ topped the list, followed by ‘Winzo Games’.
