AAIBA Designs wins Gold at the 16th IDA (International Design Awards)

AAIBA Design Private Limited, an integrated creative and digital agency helmed by Saurabh Chandekar and his wife Rasika Chandekar, was recently felicitated with the Gold award at the 16th IDA (International Design Awards) 2022. AAIBA won the Print and Poster category award for the creative digital campaign the agency had carried out for the Screen Writers Awards (SWA), 2020.

For this year’s awards, 67 eminent jurors with at least 15 years of individual experience and proven leadership excellence in their respective fields evaluated entries from 80 countries before eventually declaring AAIBA as the winner.

AAIBA won the award for the innovative, engaging, and highly impactful digital campaign it had carried out for the Screen Writers Awards, a path-breaking event organized by the Screen Writers Association (SWA), India. SWA is the governing body that represents the Screen Writers in the country across large, small, and OTT screen formats. SWA aims to ensure fair representation of the entertainment industry writers and give them due recognition and honor.

The Screenwriters Award 2020 was an event planned to achieve this objective, and AAIBA was chosen to be the agency that executed the end-to-end digital as well as social media promotions for the landmark event. With this win at the 16th International Design Awards, AAIBA has further underscored its creative brilliance. Iconic film star Amitabh Bachchan also praised SWA and AAIBA for coming up with the awards that felicitated screenwriters in India.

Speaking about this, Saurabh Chandekar, Founder of AAIBA Designs, said, “Winning an IDA Award is a very proud moment for the entire AAIBA team and a new high for those who worked on the SWA project. The campaign we designed was focused on the aesthetic finesse and profundity that the art of writing requires, and it also depicted the glamour quotient of the entertainment industry. It was challenging as we had to promote the typically underrated fraternity of screenwriters in sync with the cause espoused by the Screenwriters Association of India. We created a sublime design that gave a comprehensive, distinct, and remarkable brand identity to the organization and the event. I am thankful to the IDA jury for acknowledging our efforts through this global recognition.”

Sharing her thoughts on the SWA 2020 campaign creatives winning the prestigious International Design Award, Ms. Manisha Korde, Chair of SWA Awards, said, Inventing a unique visual language for all campaigns & brand identity for SWA Awards involved a great deal of discussion with AAIBA about the world of screenwriters and our aspirations about the positioning of the awards, which are the first of its kind in India. Intellectual yet fun, high concept yet approachable, Indian motives but global sensibilities -- our demands on the table for AAIBA were dimetric. Saurabh's team put in their best. Awards are like time bombs. Along with drafts and copies, tempers fly to and fro with great frequency and intensity. One sees it all, midnight oil and ointments, both. At such tricky times, talent must be laced with tolerance for disagreements and respect for individuality. AAIBA and SWA stood great on these parameters as well. I am ecstatic that AAIBA’s vision for SWA Awards 2020 has fetched IDA's top-notch international validation.”

IDA is a collaborative effort by several renowned designers, thinkers, and entrepreneurs who formed the annual award show in 2007 to recognize design excellence and celebrate innovative and multi-disciplinary designs. IDA annually honors exceptional designs, visionaries, and rising talent worldwide in international architecture, interior, product, graphic, and fashion design. Entries across five major categories, Architectural Design, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, and Product Design, are evaluated by experts from diverse disciplines. The best talent receives the IDA honor after overcoming stiff competition.

A defining thing about winning an IDA award is that it doesn’t just honor creativity or unusual designs. The jury members evaluate every entry on several parameters, including innovation, aesthetics, functionality, ergonomics, durability, impact, utility, ecological compatibility, the feasibility of production, and emotional quotient (EQ). The winners are selected after intense scrutiny of the innovation, artistic value, ease of use, safety, maintenance, longevity, and environmental compatibility of the design and the potential benefits for the users.
