Ad Club Bangalore re-engineers Big Bang Awards into 2 parts

The Advertising Club Bangalore Big Bang Awards, which is in its 24th year, has been split into two events. In a release issued, Laeeq Ali, President, The Advertising Club Bangalore, explained that the committee had decided to re-engineer the flagship event into 2 parts to bring more focus and have key takeaways for the fraternity at large. “Going forward, we have planned a series of relevant activities which are going to add a lot of value for the members. The overall theme for the year is rallying around the thought of ‘For The Love of Advertising’ and our start point is the Big Bang Awards,” he added.  

The Big Bang Awards I event, which is slated on September 20, is exclusively for Excellence in Creative covering various categories. The entries for Big Bang Awards I are open online at www.bigbangawards.com and the last date for entries is being extended to August 15, 2019. 

Big Bang Awards II is devoted to Excellence in Media & Wellness and will be held on November 15, 2019. Both the events will be held at The ITC Royal Gardenia, Bangalore. 

The Big Bang Awards I & II, 2019, are the biggest events of Ad Club Bangalore, Presented by Colors – Viacom 18, Knowledge partner – Adobe, Regional Media Partner – Vijay Vani, Beverage Partner – Tetley, Fragrance Partner – IRIS, Celebrations Partners – Paul John and Big Banyan, Technology Partner – Ad Stream, Silver Partner – Armour Digital OOH, Radio Partner – Red FM, and Community Partner – Exchange4Media. “This year, we re-examined all the award categories to give the communication for specialised verticals like automotive, realty, consumer goods, social impact, their due. Digital communication is a part of every category. We have also rationalised the number of categories based on market trends. We have expert judges from all over the country and abroad and are very proud of the fact that for the last 7 years our entire process from entry submission to judging is online ensuring a fair, impartial process,” said Malavika Harita, Chairperson, The Big Bang Awards Committee

Speaking about the awards, Arvind Kumar, Executive Director, Ad club Bangalore, said, “The decision to split the awards into two events was prompted by the fact that Creative & Media have emerged as the two pillars of our industry and healthcare is a fast growing segment. We believe that two separate events will give the two core aspects of our business, the right focus.” 

Ad Club Bangalore is the only club in India where the entire process, from submission of entries to judging, is online. Online acceptance of entries opened on July 26 and closes at midnight on August 15, 2019.
