How did you join your current organisation?

Earlier, I was working with Myntra as a Quality Analyst and never had even thought about a job change. But destiny had some other plans for me, for which I am quite grateful. This job opportunity came my way out of nowhere. A friend had applied here and changed her mind later, but informed me about the opening thinking I would be a good fit for the position. With no intention to switch my job, I decided to give my 100% at the interviews, and guess what? Six years and counting time just flew at Clovia!

Who are the icons in this field whom you look up to and how have they influenced you and your work?

For me, my mentors would always be Neha Kant and Pankaj Vermani, who are the founders of this successful brand, Clovia. They were the ones who believed in me and guided me and influenced me and my work. By looking at them, I have learned how to stay dedicated, persistent, and consistent. The one important thing that I learned practically is “Never say never” to new opportunities and challenges, which has been the key to my success.

What are the five most productive things that you do in your everyday routine?

  1. Clean & organise my workspace
  2. Plan for the next day
  3. Set priorities for today
  4. Touch base with teammates
  5. Utilise breaks to stay updated on social trends

Do you think a career in this field is a viable one in the long term?

Yes definitely! Content writing and content creation have always been very successful career options and is bound to grow further in the coming years. It’s the basic skeleton of human interaction, information and entertainment, while the platform of content might evolve over the years – from oral folklore to print and from print to social media. Social media has been the key medium which is driving people from across the globe to learn new things about brand, people, new ideas.

What does it take to succeed in a career?

I believe one does attain success gradually. One should be passionate, consistent, dedicated, and stay updated. One should always see things in a positive direction and work towards your goals.

What would be your advice to youngsters planning to enter this industry?

In today’s time, the lifestyle sector has created a huge boom amongst all youngsters. With many young enthusiasts joining the industry, one should observe what’s going around and keep building your skill sets. Always have an open mind and never say no. Initially things would be a bit new, but one should experiment and experience different facets of content, and then pick the one you want to excel in.

Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?

I see myself being a 5x better version of the current me.

Is there any organisation that you would like to work with in the future?

I strongly believe in “Never, say never”. I don’t have a specific organisation in mind, but I will analyse and decide on whatever comes my way.
