Ad man Ramesh Narayan joins panel to regulate government ads

Advertising veteran and founder of Canco Advertising, Ramesh Narayan will join a panel comprising of former chief election commissioner, OP Rawat and former Prasar Bharti member AK Tandon who will collectively ensure that government advertising follows strict adherence to Supreme Court (SC) guidelines.

In 2015, the SC mandated that the central government constitute a three-member committed ‘consisting of persons with unimpeachable neutrality and impartially’ to regulate the content and property of government ads.

The new committee has been selected by a three-member panel comprising Press Council of India Chairman CK Prasad, lyricist Prasoon Joshi and I&B secretary Amit Khare.

Ramesh Narayan is also the Vice-President and Area Director for the International Advertising Association (IAA), APAC region.
