AdAsia Bali 2017 to focus on ‘Advancing New Possibilities’

AdAsia 2017, the largest advertising and marketing conference in the Asia-Pacific region, is being held in Bali, Indonesia from November 8-10. Over these three days, industry experts will delve into pressing subjects like technological breakthroughs, the importance of creative enterprising, digital implementation and effective marketing – all with a distinct emphasis on the Asia-Pacific region under the event’s overarching theme, ‘Globalizasian - Advancing New Possibilities’. Beyond industry-focused content, AdAsia 2017 will also celebrate Indonesia’s cultural diversity, and examine its immense contributions to the global economy.

By hosting ad agencies, brands, and media alike, the AdAsia Bali event acts as a unique touch point for industry players, and has  line up high calibre speakers, including Charles Adler, Co-founder of Kickstarter; Azran Osman-Rani, CEO of iflix Malaysia; Martin Lindstrom, author of the best-selling book ‘Buyology’; David Coulthard, F1 grand prix winner; Piotr Jakubowski, CMO of GO-JEK Indonesia; and Shelina Janmohamed, Vice President of Ogilvy Noor. To close the conference, Kofi Annan, former UN Secretary General and Nobel Peace Prize recipient will give an address on how businesses can help to lead positive change.

Maya Watono, Head of International Affairs of the Advertising Agencies Association of Indonesia (P3I), said of the upcoming event, “Through AdAsia, we can promote Indonesia to the international world, including the brilliant progress of our advertising industry.”

Harris Thajeb, Chairman of P3I, added here, “Together, we can learn more about Asia’s latest innovations and future directions. We hope to gain support from everyone involved.”

AdAsia is organised by AFAA (Asian Federation of Advertising Association) on a bi-annual basis, and 2017 marks the 30th iteration of the event. Previously held in Hanoi in 2013 and Taipei in 2015, the forum makes a return to Indonesia in 2017, marking the first time since 1995 the country has played host. Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) is set to serve as the venue.

India had hosted the AdAsia conference in 2003 and 2011. The organisers are expecting over 100 delegates from India this year. AdAsia 2019 will take place in Pakistan.
