Adgully completes 10 years

Crossing the decade-mark is an exhilarating feeling. Adgully has today achieved this landmark – completing 10 years in the business. It was on September 23, 2009 that Adgully stepped into the online world of disseminating news related to the M&E and advertising industry. 

As in the case of any successful venture, Adgully was born of a ‘dream that won’t go away’, countless hours of planning, arranging for the start-up capital, and moving out of a well-cushioned comfort zone. The year 2009 was when the M&E and advertising industry all across the world was going through a slump, the reverberations of which were felt in India as well. From a growth of over 16 per cent in the 2004-2008 period, growth in 2009 had halved to 8 per cent (as per PwC’s ‘Indian Entertainment and Media Outlook 2009’ report). 

The unstable markets offered an opportunity to news portals in providing that much needed clarity and indepth analyses. Hence, Adgully’s DNA was formed with the need to present news about the industry the way it is – without unnecessary embellishments, speculations or the mad rush to “break” news. We all get there eventually – just a few seconds apart. 

What forms the core of each news report is presenting the facts, the key developments, analysing the situations and/or findings and the implications for the industry. Over the years, Adgully has formed deep bonds with the industry through the integrity of its reportage – and a bit of relentless pursuing!
