Adgully Exclusive | UTV Bindass: Fun, Fresh and Fearless

Adgully talks to Keith Alphonso the new Business Head for UTV Bindass as he settles in at his new desk.

Alphonso has to his credit an enormous experience of above 14 years in media business management and has been a part of the broadcast entertainment industry for over seven years.

Considering the youth market today Alphonso states that the key driving factors involve relationships, friends and success. Relationships, among the youth according to him is like a status symbol of sorts. Having a boy friend or a girl friend is the way they accessorise! Friends you got to have in order to socialize and network. Success is measured in terms of achieving a respectable designation at an early age and the money will follow.

Seeing as how well informed the youth are about the world today the challenges that arise while trying to market a brand to them is forming a relationship with the youth. If a brand can achieve this task the youth market will be hooked on.

Taking all these factors into consideration Bindass will move forward this year towards establishing their place in the mobile, online and the on ground space. All this purely riding on the channel itself.

Bindass is also In the process of developing a mobile app called a "proximity alert' which allows an individual to keep an eye on their girl/boy friend. Apart from the mobile app Bindass also has a huge involvement in music like their show "Juke Box'. They also display a ticker with live feeds from their Facebook fan page. All these constitute their marketing techniques rather than traditional means of marketing. "These are the innovative techniques that you will see throughout the year for our shows," says, Alphonso.

Alphonso states that although they are looking to move forward with may be a second season with regards to their fiction show "Meri Toh Lag Gayi.... Naukri', their main focus for this year will be on music with a Bindass twist. Bindass will also be sharing their award winning research with the industry.

Alphonso ends by saying, "We have a lot of entertaining, new and innovating research methodologies going forward this year. When this is kept open it turns into something meaningful. We are happy to share the demographics." Thus, leaving an open invitation in sharing their research.
