In the recent past, television as a medium of exposure has increasingly gained importance. Adding another interestingly innovative angle to the importance of this potential medium, BIG Magic announced 'Big Bal Kalakaar' - India's first children's Devotional Singing Reality TV show with 'Sangeet Mein Sanskaar' are the core message. Made for the HIndi heartland, Big Bal Kalakar, is the first ever platform to acknowledge the singing prowess of young talented bal kalakaars, presented by BIG MAGIC and 92.7 BIG FM, the show is all set to take off with its auditions across 14 cities in MP, UP, Bihar & Jharkhand.

Speaking on this occassion, Anand Chakravarty, Senior VP, Marketing, RBNL said, "With Big Bal Kalakar, we are getting into an unexplored genre on television. The unusual concept has highly acclaimed names as the judges on board. Firstly, highly esteemed and popular music director Jatin Pandit, who is responsible for gifting the industry with some of the brightest talent. We also have Padma Bhushan Classical singer duo Rajan-Sajan Mishra, with their rich singing talent that imbibes culture and traditions”together these alchemists, will search for the precious gems that the region possess."

Pandit Gulshan Bharti is the mentor for the budding children and the young and talented Prajakta Shukre (of Indian Idol fame) will be the host for the BIG Bal Kalakaar TV series on BIG MAGIC.

Commenting on the kind of marketing activities the show has adopted, he said, "We are looking for a holistic marketing and promotion plans for the show. BIGBal Kalakaar, will see for the first time young talented children of the region making a beeline to the 14 audition centers across UP, MP and Bihar (Bareilly, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Allahabad, Patna, Ranchi, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Bhopal, Indore, Agra, Mathura & Varanasi). Through the show BIG MAGIC wants to reach out to the local young talent and for this, we have also associated with numerous schools as a contact platform. BIG Bal Kalakaar calls for auditions through our media platforms of both BIG MAGIC and BIG FM, leaders in the regional television and radio space. This will also be supported by a holistic media campaign involving ' print, local cable, SMS pushes etc. We are integrating the show with another popular offering of Big Magic, i.e. Big Memsaab, where at the grand finale, the children from Big Bal Kalakar will perform."

Adding further he said, "We are also looking at various PR opportunities for the kids, like on every special occasion, for example 26th January, the kids performances shall be made to albums to offer more exposure. The marketing spends for this show have been anywhere close to 1025 crores.

Speaking about the future projects and plans the channel holds, Chakravarthy said, "With this, we are in the process of producing sitcoms from the region along with trying our hand at various other formats like large format game shows, devotional genre and thus we aim to give a refreshed and lively look to the channel. The channel is excited about adototng intersting and new done before formats, in turn expanding the already large local base TG it has. With this kind of new content been produced, we are definitely looking forward to better and newer opportunities".

The city auditions will culminate in 4 cluster auditions from which 10 young voices will be chosen for the 26 episode TV series with each episode having a special theme on BIG MAGIC. These 10 young children will be mentored by Gulshan Bharathi for 2 weeks before the TV show begins.
