ADTECH integrates Apple's advertising identifier

ADTECH’s Mobile SDK 3.0 is now fully compliant with Apple‘s Advertising Identifier, letting publishers and networks for the first time to target users across iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch apps and SDKs.

Dreieich, 5th December 2012 – ADTECH, a leading global provider of ad serving technology and part of the AOL Advertising.com Group, is annoucing today that it has fully integrated Apple’s Advertising Identifier into its technology, letting publishers and marketers continue to confidently targeting their audiences on iOS 6 devices and, for the first time ever, allowing them to target across apps and across SDKs (Software Development Kit).

“When it comes to in-app advertising we are paving the way in our industry with our mobile advertising solutions,“ says ADTECH CTO Mark Thielen. “Now that Apple’s Advertising Identifier is fully integrated into our technology, our publishing and network customers are not only compliant with Apple, but they can now for the first time ever, identify users across all applications that are also using the Advertiser Identifier. Consumers, meanwhile, have the choice to opt-out from targeted ads“.

The new feature is implemented using ADTECH’s Mobile SDK. The Mobile SDK supports publishers and marketers in monetizing their mobile content and mobile apps via in-app advertising.

ADTECH‘s Advertising Identifier feature ensures that:

  • Publishers and marketers can continue to confidently target their audiences who have upgraded to Apple iOS 6 on their iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads
  • For the first time ever, publishers and marketers can target iOS6 users cross-app and cross-SDKs
  • Apps from publishers and advertisers now comply with Apple’s rules on serving targeted ads
  • Consumers have the ability to opt-out from targeted ads.

Christian Ruck, Head of Mobile SDKs at ADTECH says, “Apple has started to reject apps that access UDID catching some developers and publishers by surprise. At ADTECH, we are pleased to give our customers the tools to be fully compliant with Advertiser Identifier, and to give them the peace of mind that they are ahead of schedule.”

“Apple’s new identification feature for mobile apps replaces our own brand tracking solution, a move following Apple’s decision earlier this year to prohibit the use of the unique device idenfier (UDID) for targeting purposes. In addition to the iOS 6 Advertising Identifier, our products are fully compliant with the international standards Mobile Rich Media Ad Interface Definitions (MRAID) 2.0 and Open Rich Media Mobile Advertising (ORMMA).
